The process felt pretty well choreographed, and even when it got technically challenging, I never felt totally lost. After a recruiter conversation, I moved through a sequence of rounds that added up to four interviews in total. The conversations were professional and engaging, with a clear throughline from core coding to broader engineering thinking.
In the coding-focused parts, I was asked an algorithms/data-structures style LeetCode question and had to work through it live. The rest of the loop leaned into backend and systems topics—talking distributed systems and backend engineering—so it wasn’t only about getting to a correct answer. I also went through behavioral questions that were basically “tell me about a time…” scenarios, with an emphasis on values. Overall it felt like a legitimate chance to discuss how I’d approach real problems rather than a trick gauntlet.

Difficult Positive Sat home
My loop started with a very detailed low-level design round where I had to design a trade reconciliation service. The interviewer was knowledgeable and helpful, but I could feel the bar for clarity and completeness was pretty strict. I left that first technical round realizing a few gaps in how I’d been preparing.
After that, I went through more focused technical questioning. One round was a “basic DSA” style setup, and the next round turned into a deeper grilling on my projects—going into the details I’d chosen and challenging me to explain design decisions rather than just describe what I built. That same round also included low-level design scenarios, and I had to handle them while staying organized and consistent in my reasoning.
