I started with a recruiter/HR touchpoint where they walked me through the expectations, scope, and responsibilities of the Account Executive role. The HR conversation focused on my background, my motivations, and how my career path had led me to this kind of work, and it felt like the goal was making sure we understood each other before moving forward.
That first HR call was fairly structured, and it used recorded interview tooling, which added an extra layer of pressure because I knew my performance would be evaluated. I didn’t leave with vague questions—everything felt direct and role-scoped, and the overall difficulty was in the average range for me. After that, I moved along to the next stage.

Average Negative Thailand
My process had a split personality. The HR/talent interview was one of the best I’d had in a while—no fluff, and they asked direct questions about my experience and how I could add value. It felt like a real conversation about fit, not an interrogation, and I walked out feeling like I’d clearly made my case.
Then the peer round went badly. The person I spoke with seemed tired and disinterested, yawning more than once, and the questions felt basic instead of grounded in how the job actually works. I was trying to understand details that mattered to how I’d operate day to day—how I’d be measured with KPIs, what quota retirement looked like, and how the sales engagement process typically ran—but they weren’t able to answer. The contrast threw me off hard because it didn’t match the quality of the HR screen.
