My interview journey started with a first round that was mostly behavioral. It felt like the goal was to understand how I thought and how I’d worked with others, not to test heavy technical knowledge right away. Once I got through that, the next stage switched gears into a case study format.

I was then given a case study to work on over the weekend, which was followed by a superday-style final. The superday included a case study presentation with two back-to-back interviews. The questions overall stayed fairly approachable and the people I spoke with were friendly, which made the back-to-back format easier to handle. I left the process feeling like it had a steady progression—behavior first, then case execution and communication—and although it didn’t end with an offer for me, it didn’t feel adversarial.

My interviews were very LBO- and leveraged-finance oriented, and the technical focus came early and stayed consistent. The process started with a technical screen, and after that I moved quickly toward a superday. Even though the people I spoke with were genuinely nice, the content required solid familiarity with LBO modeling concepts, including how to think about debt and how deals are structured for financial sponsors.

By the time I got to the in-person stage, it felt like I was expected to be fully operational on the topic rather than just discuss it at a high level. The process was described as difficult, and I felt that in the workload I had to be ready for. It ultimately didn’t result in an offer for me, but what stood out was that the firm seemed serious about testing real modeling understanding, not just general finance knowledge.
