Before I even got to the core technical work, the scheduling and conduct felt off. I once got an unexpected phone call because I’d been asked about availability but never received confirmation for the day and time. Another time, the interviewer joined late, skipped introductions, and immediately started the coding prompt by dropping a link without any small talk.
Later, the process also felt unstable in how it was communicated. I was told repeatedly that there would be no coding, only to have coding switched on shortly before the scheduled time, which threw me off and left me scrambling to set up my environment on short notice. In parallel, there were inconsistencies and dismissiveness in how issues were handled—like ignoring a message about a compensation band mismatch.

Difficult Neutral Australia
My interview journey ended up being the longer and more intense version. After recruiter and manager conversations, I went through multiple additional rounds that pulled in pre-sales leadership and several interviewers—including a panel. The process felt very evaluation-focused, and it stretched into what ultimately seemed like a heavy sequence.
A big part of it was a technical challenge that I had a week to complete. Once I finished that, there was a final step with a VP-level meeting. Even though I’d been through several conversations already, that last stage still felt like a culmination—like they were checking how I’d think and present under pressure.
