After I applied, the whole process felt pretty smooth and even laid-back. I ended up speaking with a small panel and the conversation was comfortable, with interviewers who seemed kind and easy to talk to. I mostly got pushed into behavioral territory—lots of questions designed to understand how I’d worked in the past and how I’d handled different situations.
What stood out was that they also wanted to hear about Northern Trust itself and my prior roles, but it wasn’t very technical-heavy. The process felt focused on fit and communication rather than deep finance calculations, and I left feeling like I’d had a genuinely good experience getting to know the team and being able to ask my own questions about how they worked.

Easy Positive Luxembourg
My interview felt straightforward from start to finish. I had a simple setup that didn’t drag on, and I remember walking into it expecting something basic and getting exactly that: questions about why I wanted the role and what I’d done before. There weren’t any intimidating theoretical questions, and the flow was mostly about fit and my experience.
The format stayed light too. In my case it was short—around half an hour—and I spoke with the hiring manager, which made it feel direct and low-friction. Interviewers were friendly and kept the conversation easy, and I appreciated how quickly things moved after scheduling. Even though the questions weren’t super technical, it still felt like a real conversation about whether I could contribute.
