After a phone screening about my work experience and earlier projects, I was invited to an on-site technical interview. The on-site covered fundamentals of JavaScript, along with HTML5 and CSS3, but it went beyond trivia: I had to do string and array manipulation questions that involved recursion, like reversing a string and handling arrays that could contain other arrays.

They also asked about JavaScript async behavior using setTimeout, and then moved into patterns and object instantiation—more about how to structure code and what best practices look like. The DOM questions were practical too: using native JavaScript or jQuery to manipulate the page, append and remove comment blocks, and even recreate certain web layouts based on how I would structure my HTML and CSS. I left feeling like it was a broad but coherent test of real frontend reasoning.
