After applying online, I ended up getting pulled into a start-stop phone-screen scheduling loop that never quite took off. I had a phone screen set up, but it kept slipping—one reschedule happened because the interviewer said they were dealing with jury duty. Each time we moved the Zoom interview, it was canceled again very close to the start time, and after the last change I didn’t hear anything back despite following up. It left me feeling like the process wasn’t being run with much organization or basic follow-through.
Later, I had a separate attempt where the recruiter/text coordination also failed in a similar way: I agreed on a time and then the call never happened, and when I tried to reach out to reset it, I wasn’t able to get a response. That same kind of disconnection showed up for me when I finally did get on the calendar—there was an interview where I was left waiting, the interviewer rushed through questions, and the discussion ended with a denial tied to my citizenship status, even though the posting suggested they weren’t supposed to discriminate that way. The experience overall felt unprofessional, from missed calls to unclear messaging to a rushed vibe.

My most intense NewDay experience was built around a superday-style in-person day that started with set-up calls and then turned into a long, exhausting schedule at headquarters. I first made it through earlier interviews and then got invited to the office, where I was essentially thrown into the rhythm of the day—touring the space, shadowing a credit analyst for a short window, and then being interviewed by leadership. The process felt like it was designed for volume, not deep connection.
What really stuck with me was how the superday logistics and atmosphere felt once I was there. I watched the flow get formal and then weirdly chaotic—there was an interview-style icebreaker that was more like childish chaos than professionalism, followed by hours of slide-heavy presentation time and then a math quiz that felt mismatched to what I’d already shown. Lunch came afterward, but even small details felt off, like the unevenness of what was offered. After that, I shadowed current teammates and then saw the day end with a happy hour where candidates and associates didn’t have the same energy or spending level.
