After a recruiter reached out, I ended up doing an initial technical discussion by video where two interviewers joined—one was more focused on DSA-style questions and the other leaned into a specific backend topic. The conversation felt a bit detached at points, but the main thread was still straightforward: get through coding fundamentals and then go deeper on concepts like data structures and related backend themes. I remember carrying the usual laptop and setup details into the call, because the process felt very “show up and handle it” rather than anything heavily coached.
About a week later, I had a separate technical round that was explicitly DSA-focused. The questions were medium-harder, and they leaned on common patterns like linked lists. After that, there was an HR round that felt more about engagement and fit than deep behavioral scoring. The overall timeline moved quickly from there, and I eventually received an offer letter soon after the final stages. Looking back, I was glad the process concentrated on real technical problem solving, even if the delivery sometimes felt a little cold.

Average Neutral London, England
A recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn and organized my first step as a short technical discussion with two people. One interviewer opened with a brief company intro, then I moved straight into the technical exchange without much back-and-forth on my background. The second interviewer asked lots of technical questions spanning Java topics, thread safety, a reactive paradigm angle, plus data structures and cloud-related questions.
The way the interview ran threw me off. I felt the interviewers were quite cold and detached, and the questioning felt academic and very low-level—more like details about how things work internally than how to use them effectively in real projects. I remember getting stuck on areas I hadn’t prepared for in that exact depth, especially around internal workings and framework-level assumptions. By the end, I couldn’t shake the sense that the questions didn’t map cleanly to what I would actually do day to day.
