Difficult Negative San Carlos, CA

My experience started online and stayed that way. I talked with HR and the hiring manager, and then the process expanded into a lot of additional meetings with six other people. Some conversations felt fairly nice, but others were clearly distracted—like they were working while interviewing me.

The whole thing also felt unusually hard to navigate emotionally because the theme of confidentiality kept blocking me from having a natural conversation in return. I tried to ask questions back, but I kept running into “can’t share” boundaries, and it became difficult to find anything safe to discuss. On top of that, the schedule was draining: interviews happened once a week for eight weeks. I remember thinking that fewer, full interview days would have been less stressful than spreading the nerves out that long.

Average Negative Los Angeles, CA

The process stretched out over more than a month. I went through four main stages, including two technical stages and a final panel-style interview. The overall structure felt consistent: each round built on the last, but the time between steps made it feel like it would never end.

The final stage was the most intense. I joined a panel interview with several people in total—five technical interviews in that last step—focused on math, programming, and data munging. Earlier rounds added the technical depth, and by the time I reached the end, it was clear they were trying to stress-test how I handled a broad range of data science work.
