My process took a couple of months and followed a clear progression: first an HR screen, then an interview with the hiring manager where we covered the role and typical customer success questions, followed by a peer interview with broader topics around databases and cloud-native infrastructure. The last step was a presentation-style challenge framed like a customer meeting.
The challenge itself was the part that felt most questionable. I had a prep call beforehand, then I delivered a presentation to a fictitious customer panel where the interviewers played different customer roles. It was essentially high-stakes role play with limited preparation time, and since it wasn’t a real existing customer context, I had to rely on what I could learn quickly instead of any natural product familiarity.

Difficult Negative United States
I went through a long, multi-stage process that stretched across months, and what made it memorable was how uneven it felt depending on where I was in the sequence. The early recruiter and scheduling part moved forward, but the overall journey ended up being start/stop in a way that didn’t make sense—people on the team changed, and I wasn’t given clear explanations about what happened. At one point, hiring activity even paused with a freeze, and later resumed, which added to the uncertainty.
Interviews themselves were a mix: when the conversations happened, they were thorough and professional, and I spoke with the hiring manager and peers as well as more technical people. I also had rounds that involved a presentation/challenge element, and I was given some preparation support for it. Still, the final stretch was frustrating: there were moments where interviewers didn’t show up on time, the process went quiet after I was told things were moving forward, and I ultimately received rejection communication without meaningful feedback.
