Average Neutral Burton upon Trent, England

After a recruiter call, I was asked to do a self-recorded video interview with two prompts, each one taking about 2–3 minutes. It felt straightforward but a little unnatural since it was just me on camera, and there wasn’t any back-and-forth to clarify what the interviewer wanted.

About a week later, I had an engagement call that was meant to help me understand what to expect if I made the shortlist. Then I went into an assessment day. That day included group work and five very fast speed interviews, each one only a minute long, so the pacing was intense and I had to be concise quickly.

Average Neutral Laurentides, QC

My process felt cold from the start. I moved through interviews that were very business oriented, with very little warmth or effort to understand whether I was actually a fit beyond checking the boxes. The overall vibe didn’t feel reassuring, and I left wondering whether the company truly cared about the person behind the resume.

In the second round, the experience got worse in ways that distracted me from the content. One interviewer joined from a noisy lobby and another started late, which meant we began without them. After the interviews, communication also fell short—I was told I’d get a follow-up call, but instead I received a generic rejection email from an unmonitored inbox. It was hard not to interpret that as a lack of respect for candidates’ time.

What to expect

Distilled from the reports

Initial Screening & Video Interview

Candidates typically start with a recruiter call followed by a one-way video interview, where they respond to prompts without the opportunity for interaction. This format can feel unnatural and requires candidates to be concise and composed under time constraints.

Behavioral Interviews & STAR Format

Most interviews focus heavily on behavioral questions structured around the STAR format, requiring candidates to provide clear examples of past experiences. This consistent evaluation method helps candidates prepare effectively by framing their responses around specific situations and results.

Candidates often face panel interviews that include case study presentations, where they must demonstrate their sales strategies and problem-solving skills in real-time. This format can be intense due to multiple interviewers and the need to present clearly under pressure.
