My experience was technically normal up front, but the communication around it ended up being the hardest part. I was called for a virtual interview, and then minutes before it was scheduled I received an email saying it was canceled. They said they’d reschedule, but I never got a new time.
Later, when I did manage to get through an interview, it still didn’t feel like there was closure. After the interview, HR went silent for about a month before I finally received any response. The interviews themselves didn’t leave the same kind of frustration as the waiting did. The lack of transparency and the long gaps afterward really changed how I judged the process, even though I otherwise understood the interview flow.

Difficult Positive Boston, MA
My interview process felt intense and very segmented. It started with a 30-minute screening where the discussion dug into one of my resume projects, and then there was a short case study on classification modeling. After that, I had three back-to-back rounds on the same day, each about 45 minutes, so there wasn’t much time to reset mentally between prompts.
Those three rounds focused on resume grilling, behavioral questions, and live coding. The behavioral part leaned into less conventional questions, including how I would reach out to a senior or colleague for help, how I’d use AI-based tools in my work, and similar scenarios. The live coding component asked me to implement a 2D convolution operation. In another version of the same overall path, the technical rounds similarly went from basics like loss functions and logistic regression using NumPy into deeper discussion of projects and some questions related to LLMs, before landing on an HR-style team-fit conversation.

What to expect
Distilled from the reports
Interview Structure & Rounds
The interview process typically includes a series of structured rounds, often starting with a technical screen followed by multiple back-to-back interviews that blend technical and behavioral questions. Candidates should expect a mix of resume deep dives, coding challenges, and discussions on machine learning concepts.
Interviews often emphasize technical knowledge, including machine learning fundamentals, coding tasks, and practical applications rather than traditional LeetCode problems. Candidates should be prepared for questions that require explaining algorithms and their applications in real-world scenarios.
Behavioral interviews are a significant component, focusing on how candidates approach collaboration, problem-solving, and their past experiences. Candidates should be ready to discuss their work style and how they fit into team dynamics.
