My first screen with Micro1 was an AI interview that felt genuinely hostile to the process. The bot rushed through prompts, skipped ahead around pauses in the conversation, and even mispronounced terms when it asked technical questions. The interaction made it feel less like an interview and more like an automated quiz.
What bothered me most was the lack of room for a back-and-forth. It didn’t create any real opportunity for me to ask questions or clarify anything, and instead kept narrowing the interaction into rapid-fire evaluation. The whole thing felt like the AI was the main character and I was just a voice to be measured.

Difficult Neutral India
My interview experience leaned very heavily into practical backend concepts. It kicked off with fundamentals that touched React and Node.js, but it didn’t stay there. Very quickly the discussion deepened into production-level areas like worker threads and task processing, how systems use queues and message services, and how you make operations safe and repeatable with idempotency.
From there, the questions moved through distributed-systems thinking and into database internals—PostgreSQL transactions, isolation levels, and concurrency control. I also got pushed on query optimization and how you’d make design decisions when performance matters. It felt closer to a stronger senior engineering screen than a typical new-grad interview, and the depth made it challenging to keep up in real time.
