After the HR reach-out, I ended up with a single hiring-manager interview that lasted about an hour. What surprised me was that it wasn’t really a “tell me about yourself” or a resume deep-dive. The questions were all grounded in the job description they shared, even though I was missing some of the experience they wanted.

The vibe felt like they were trying to figure out whether I could directly fit into what the role needed, not whether I could talk my way around gaps. It felt pretty straightforward from a format perspective, and overall it leaned more like a targeted role-fit conversation than an evaluation of my history.
