I started with a hiring manager screening, and then about a week later I went through an on-site that felt tightly structured. The on-site included two back-to-back rounds with two engineers, with questions that focused on how I approach the job and how I think through problems. The last part was just a separate conversation with the hiring manager that was more casual, like they wanted to gauge fit beyond the technical back-and-forth.
The whole experience ended with a real rollercoaster. After the interview, I received a verbal indication that I had the job, and then right before the written offer came through, the company rescinded it due to “restructuring.” The timing felt especially frustrating because it had already taken around four months from application to offer. I left the process feeling like the decision had been made too late, and honestly it made the process feel unprofessional at the finish line.
