My interview felt genuinely confusing from the start. The conversation began immediately with technical questions and the interviewer didn’t introduce himself or give any context for what the discussion was meant to be about. I kept trying to get clarification and rephrasing because the questions seemed disconnected from the role I applied for, and I couldn’t clearly demonstrate my skills when I didn’t even fully understand what was being asked.
The whole thing was extremely brief—after only two questions, the interviewer abruptly ended the conversation by saying that was enough. Leaving that early, I didn’t have a clear sense of how my candidacy was evaluated or what the purpose of the interview was supposed to be.

Easy Positive United States
I went through a pretty lightweight process that didn’t feel like a gauntlet. After a recruiter phone screen, I had interviews with a hiring manager and then additional developer-side conversations with senior engineers from the teams I’d potentially work with. The rounds were straightforward and mostly focused on fundamentals and how I think through problems rather than tricky algorithmic coding.
Across the interviews, I remember discussing my background and why I’d chosen the field, plus walking through how I’d tackle a problem and describing a project that had been especially challenging. Some of the questions were conceptual coding questions rather than a formal coding exam, and at points I felt like the conversations were designed to gauge practical knowledge quickly. Overall, it was easy to follow along and I didn’t leave feeling confused about what they were looking for.
