I went through the early rounds and felt like I was finally heading into real evaluation. After the recruiter-type steps, I made it to a third round that required a full video presentation. I spent hours preparing it, expecting that, by that point, my experience would be taken seriously since I’d already spoken with real people in the prior stages.

The video part was where things felt strange and wasteful. The team appeared to review almost none of it—someone even said they watched only about ten seconds of a ten-minute video, which was especially jarring because it felt like the effort didn’t matter. A week later I got the usual “thanks but no thanks” email. The hiring manager said they liked me, but chose someone with more experience, which made the video requirement feel like busywork disguised as fairness.

After applying, I first did a recruiter phone screening that was fairly straightforward. If I was still interested, the next step was a longer conversation with management, and that round felt mostly conversational rather than overly formal. I remember the process moving with a supportive tone—I was getting a clear sense of what they were looking for as I went.

From there, the journey turned more into an evaluation of fit. I ended up with an interview focused on the hiring managers, then I had to demonstrate the product with a sales-style pitch. The whole thing leaned on being able to relate what I’d learned to the job and actually sell the value, not just talk through my resume. Overall, it didn’t feel adversarial; it felt like they were testing whether I could present, communicate, and handle the demo portion.
