My first touch with ManTech was fairly standard: emails and phone calls with a recruiter, followed by an HR phone screen and then a phone interview with a team lead. After that, I kept doing recruiter follow-ups by phone and email, and nothing felt strange until an in-person meeting happened much later.

After signing paperwork (including a noncompete in the Covid-era context), the process abruptly turned into something I didn’t expect. The meeting was pitched as a chance to meet the client and get up to speed, but it felt more like a hidden second interview. The client didn’t ask much about my previous work—despite it being well aligned—then made judgments about how “excited” I was and whether I had an “innovative attitude.” I also learned that the offer countersignature process was being delayed in a way that kept prospective employees waiting, and the recruiter apparently hadn’t countersigned as expected.
