After an initial set of early checks (including exam-style testing), my interviews ended up being a sequence of in-person rounds all the way through, moving from group screening to HR and then onward to manager and finally a partner. The parts with HR and the group felt more like fit and evaluation of how I worked with others, but the manager stage is what really defined the experience for me.
The manager interview ran for about two hours late in the evening, when the building was almost closing. The strange part was that the technical element—really just a focused chunk of case-study questions—only took around 15 minutes, even though I had expected the technical questions to be the main event. What made it more uncomfortable was that the interviewer didn’t have a technical background; instead, the questions leaned toward banking products and domain topics more than model-building or data science details. It ended up feeling mismatched with how the interview was presented.

Easy Neutral Netherlands
My first contact was quick after applying, and the earliest stage felt almost casual: a short call focused on where I placed myself on basic Python level, plus a few general questions to confirm my starting point. Then I had a behavioral interview that dug into how I’d worked and how I thought—more about my background and motivations than anything deeply technical.
The overall structure then tightened into manager conversations. I went into it expecting technical depth, but the manager round only included a small technical question alongside a broader fit discussion. In HR, the questions were similarly straightforward: education and CV walkthroughs, typical HR-style fit prompts, and some personal context. Even when I sensed a technical component, the bar didn’t feel very high compared to the overall length of the process.
