The technical interviews I went through were mostly conversations where I had to design something from the ground up, with me explaining my approach as we talked. In my case, I was asked to design a calendar for smart home products, and the whole thing felt like they wanted to see how I structured requirements and turned them into a workable design.
What surprised me was how many separate interviews it seemed to take to get through the technical evaluation, since each one felt like it was exploring similar design thinking rather than completely different tasks. The difficulty itself didn’t feel extreme, but the overall number of touchpoints dragged it out.

Easy Positive United States
After the initial recruiter-style step, I ended up in a fairly short, two-part interview. The technical portion ran for about an hour and centered on taking a problem and implementing it cleanly, specifically removing duplicates from an array without using a HashSet. I got to choose the language, which made it feel less stressful and more about demonstrating how I reasoned through the approach.
Then the behavioral discussion was pretty standard and lasted around half an hour. The interviewers were genuinely nice, and I appreciated that they saved time for questions at the end of both sections. Overall it felt organized and straightforward, and I left with the sense that they were testing fundamentals plus communication—not trying to trick me. I ended up with an offer, but the best part was how fair the questions felt.

Focus on Practical Application
Interviews often prioritize practical understanding and real-world applications of technical knowledge, with questions designed to assess how candidates approach problem-solving in relevant contexts. This includes troubleshooting scenarios and decision-making under constraints.
Candidates are encouraged to articulate their thought processes clearly during technical discussions, as communication skills are considered crucial. Interviewers often look for clarity in reasoning rather than just correct answers, making it important to explain one's approach effectively.
