My interviews felt like they moved quickly through steps, but the follow-through was where it fell apart. I went through the early stages, including an assessment where I passed all the tests, and then I waited for a response that never came. I even emailed the recruiter to ask for an update and explain where I thought things stood, but the silence continued—no feedback on the technical work, no clear rejection.

On another attempt, I had a recruiter call that started off dismissive. When I mentioned volunteer work, the reaction felt harsh and inappropriate, and it set a tone that didn’t make me feel respected. Midway through, the recruiter abruptly paused and suggested they were only looking for a different technology background, even though it hadn’t been clear from the posting. That mismatch made the whole conversation feel unprofessional.

From the start, I didn’t meet a human right away. I filled out their application form and then hit a step that felt a bit like a trap: I could proceed, but my application wasn’t fully “submitted” until I added a voice note within a limited window. I still remember getting automated reminders by email, and only after a couple of days did I get a link for the next technical step.

The technical part was essentially a timed DevSkill assessment delivered as a set of questions, with a few hours (around three and a half) to complete everything. The setup required downloading a Git repository and making the unit tests pass, and the questions felt a little outdated. After I submitted, I got one more automated email indicating they were ending the interview from there—no meaningful feedback, just a cutoff.
