My process started with an HR screen, and then I moved on to a talk with the hiring manager. After that, it became more hands-on: I had to learn a software program and then present an overview and a demo back to the hiring manager, along with a few members of the team. It wasn’t just a discussion about the work—I had to actually walk through the program.
Once that presentation portion wrapped up, I had a final, brief call with the hiring manager’s supervisor. Overall it felt like a clear sequence that kept increasing the expectations: from screening, to management conversation, to demonstrating competency, and then a top-level check at the end.

My process felt rigorous from the beginning. I had a telephone interview with a recruiter, then another telephone interview with the prospective manager, followed by face-to-face meetings—first with the prospective manager and then with his manager. The final stage was a decision step that led to an offer if things worked out.
The second interview structure sharpened the evaluation: after an HR screen, I ended up in a panel with multiple sales managers and sales directors. The format included casual Q&A and then a sales presentation of a product or service I was selling at my then-current company. What stood out was that they used the presentation to gauge my comfort showing up in front of multiple decision makers, not to try to teach me their world from scratch. It was demanding, but the intent was clear.
