Average Negative London, England

I had several interviews where the technical discussion didn’t really matter as much as the follow-through after the meetings. In one early step, HR positioned an informal conversation with the hiring manager as a way to understand the role and company better, and it was genuinely engaging—I even got time to ask questions. We ended with next steps and an expectation that HR would schedule further rounds, but after that I never heard back, and my emails went unanswered.

Other times followed the same frustrating pattern. I had an initial phone call and then a longer interview with the hiring manager, only to be left waiting without updates. In at least one case, I was told when I should hear back, and when the deadline passed I tried reaching out and still got no response. The same thing happened after a couple of very easy interviews where it never became technical and there was simply no feedback or communication after. End to end, it stretched out with silence instead of closure, and the biggest reflection I’m left with is that ghosting candidates felt unprofessional and honestly more disappointing than any single question they asked.
