What is a Security Engineer at Lambda?
As a Security Engineer at Lambda, you are tasked with protecting some of the most valuable digital assets on earth: massive AI training datasets, proprietary model weights representing millions of dollars in computational investment, and the highly sensitive inputs running on the world's premier AI cloud. Lambda is building the foundational infrastructure for the AI revolution, and security is the bedrock upon which this superintelligence cloud is built. In this role, your mission is to ensure that compute is as ubiquitous and accessible as electricity, without ever compromising the integrity of the underlying infrastructure.
You will operate at the intersection of high-performance computing (HPC), cloud-scale virtualization, and cutting-edge software engineering. Whether you are building self-service security platforms, engineering automated detection and response pipelines, or securing bare-metal GPU clusters, your work directly enables AI researchers and enterprises to train and deploy models at scale. The security team's philosophy is rooted in building "paved roads"—creating automated tools and platforms that make the secure path the easiest and fastest path for Lambda's engineering teams.
This is not a traditional IT security role. At Lambda, security engineers are software-focused builders who leverage advanced automation, cloud-native architectures, and even state-of-the-art LLMs running directly on Lambda's own infrastructure to defend against sophisticated threats. Your success is measured by the systemic vulnerabilities you prevent and the velocity you unlock for internal engineering partners.
