After my interview finished, HR reached out almost immediately with an email saying they’d already identified a final candidate who fit the requirements better, and that meant they weren’t going to move my application forward. It was incredibly fast—so fast it felt like all my time had been wasted.
Separately, I also ran into a situation where I felt the process just disappeared after the initial interaction. Even though the questions didn’t seem especially complex, I ended up being ghosted, and it left me with a bad impression that the role didn’t match what they were actually looking for. Between the abrupt rejection and the silence afterward, the overall feeling wasn’t just disappointment—it was frustration at how little closure I got.
