My first steps felt fairly straightforward: the recruiter touchpoint went fine, and the initial interview didn’t feel especially hard. What really defined the process was a take-home technical assessment written in Rust. The difficulty ramped there, but it also felt like a clear test of practical problem-solving rather than vague trivia.
After the take-home, the technical interview mostly revolved around my choices and options from the assessment. Instead of getting grilled on completely unrelated topics, I discussed the reasoning behind what I did and how I approached tradeoffs. That made it feel like an extension of the work itself.

Difficult Positive Brazil
After the initial recruiter intro, I moved quickly into practical rounds that felt designed around how I think, not just whether I can memorize syntax. There was a take-home coding exercise, and even before I finished, I could tell the process was expecting more than a superficial answer: the prompt was vague enough that it could be solved in a basic way, but as I dug in, the complexity became clearer and it rewarded deeper understanding.
My next conversation focused on my submission—what tradeoffs I made, which design choices I picked, and why. We went into systems design topics and how to reason about scaling architecture. I remember the final stage shifting toward both systems design and deeper critical-thinking questions, with a manager-style discussion that also touched behavioral elements. Overall, I felt like I was being evaluated on judgment and clarity, and the communication throughout the process was well managed.
