1. What is a UX/UI Designer at Knapheide Manufacturing?
At Knapheide Manufacturing, the UX/UI Designer (referred to internally as a Product Designer) plays a critical role in bridging the gap between high-level engineering requirements and functional, buildable product designs. You are responsible for supporting veteran designers and staff, translating complex customer specifications into actionable drawings, layouts, and bills of material. This is a hands-on, technical role where your design decisions directly influence the manufacturing lifecycle of our products.
This position is particularly significant because it allows you to gain deep exposure to Knapheide Manufacturing-centric systems while honing your core engineering and modeling capabilities. You will not be designing in a vacuum; you will be expected to attend customer specification reviews and provide direct support to the plant floor. Success in this role requires a blend of technical precision, such as proficiency in SolidWorks, and the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
