1. What is a Software Engineer at KGS?
As a Software Engineer within the Amazon Leo for Government (ALG) team, you are at the forefront of space-based technology. Your work directly contributes to the development of a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation designed to provide secure, high-speed, and low-latency connectivity to government, defense, and international partners. You are not just writing code; you are building the software infrastructure that enables mission-critical communication, satellite coordination, and space sustainability.
This role is unique because you are operating with minimal legacy constraints, allowing for the design and deployment of modern, high-assurance, and fault-tolerant systems from the ground up. You will frequently work at the intersection of embedded systems, networking, and high-performance computing, collaborating with hardware, systems, and product teams to ensure seamless integration between software and the physical satellite or ground terminal architecture. If you thrive in environments where you can influence system architecture and solve problems that impact global connectivity, this is a critical position within KGS.
