After a recruiter conversation, I moved into a sequence of rounds that felt pretty straightforward at the start. The early conversations were mostly easygoing and focused on my background and how I thought about marketing/analytics work, with different team members joining in across the rounds. Once I reached the later stage, I had to do a marketing-related exercise and also went into a skills assessment, and by then the tone was a bit more focused on how I’d work through problems rather than just discussing experience.
The most stressful part was the stage where I expected a presentation. I had the timing wrong in my head, and I felt thrown off when it turned out the “presentation” portion didn’t match what I was told about how it would run—there was a lot more behavioral questioning than I expected. I tried to stay adaptable and answer carefully, but the mismatch meant I spent the round managing the confusion instead of just performing.

Average Neutral Singapore
I went through a pretty grueling recruitment flow for what was described as a contract role, and that mismatch shaped my overall experience. After the recruiter screening, I was pulled into multiple rounds—three interviews in total—plus an onsite assignment and a presentation. By the time I hit the later steps, I felt like the process had become too heavy for the role type.
What also threw me off was that the compensation didn’t line up with what I’d benchmarked from previous work. They talked about urgency to support a new account, but the timeline and intensity of the hiring steps felt excessive for that context, especially for something contract-based.
