Average Positive Plano, TX

After I applied, the process kicked off with a recorded HireVue. The first time around felt pretty manageable: I was asked mostly behavioral prompts and a bit of motivation around why the firm, and I remember getting 30-second style pacing for responses in the recorded format. I prepared by going through the prep questions HireVue provided, and I was able to re-record if I didn’t like my first attempt—so the pressure was there, but it wasn’t completely unforgiving.

Not long after, I moved into live rounds. My recruiter touchpoint and the later scheduling were smooth, and communication felt back-and-forth rather than abrupt. The first live interview leaned heavily on conversation—background, why banking, and how my experience mapped to what the team actually did, with some light technical or analytical questions that were more about fundamentals than deep modeling. A couple of the interviews included quick prompts like “what would you do in” a situation, plus scenarios involving working through conflict or doing the right thing.

Difficult Neutral Istanbul

My process felt intense from the start. It began with an online recorded interview, but the bigger challenge came right after with timed assessments and question formats that didn’t leave much room to think. I ran into a test that asked difficult math and finance questions without being able to use a calculator, and I also had to answer additional interview-style questions with very little preparation time. The structure was clearly designed to test speed and composure, not just knowledge.

Once I got into the live stages, the difficulty stayed high. I had a superday experience that included multiple interviews with senior leaders—ED-level conversations and then an additional final round with an MD one-on-one. Trading and finance topics came up directly, and I was expected to talk through ideas rather than just recite facts. Along the way, I also dealt with structured tests that had short answer windows, including a math segment with a 30-second timing constraint for each response. I couldn’t reattempt answers, so any stumble felt permanent.
