I started with an online HireVue and it mixed fit and finance thinking. The opening questions were mostly non-technical and behavioral, but I also got a quick technical check tied to financial knowledge. Across the prompts, I kept getting the same theme: why I wanted the role, how my background connected, and how I’d handle real situations at work.

When I moved into the live interviews, the structure varied by interviewer, but it stayed consistent with the idea of assessing both communication and analytical ability. I had at least one round with two analysts where the questions blended technical basics with personality fit, and I also ran into behaviorals about teamwork and conflict. In some parts, they pressed me to explain why my experiences mattered for the position, not just what I’d done—especially in the later round where they wanted tighter relevance.

My application process followed the more traditional multi-stage pattern: resume screening, then an initial HR conversation, and then a sequence of interviews that checked both fit and core finance knowledge. In my case, the first recruiter-style discussion focused on my background, communication, and basic understanding of the role, and it felt like a normal two-way conversation rather than just a gatekeeping call.

When I got into the more technical parts, the questions leaned toward financial statements and analytical basics—things like understanding P&L, balance sheet and cash flow concepts, plus ratio analysis and Excel proficiency topics such as data handling and common spreadsheet functions. I also had valuation and forecasting questions in the mix. Across these rounds, I noticed interviewers were genuinely willing to answer my questions, which made the process feel less like I was being tested in isolation.
