My process started with an HR conversation, and then I met with the professor. The questions felt pretty standard and focused on me as a person—things like my background, prior experiences, and what my MPH work had looked like. When it came to the technical side, I talked through my recent research, including my capstone, and I also covered what I’d done in a prior research assistant role.
Overall it felt like an “fit and story” interview more than anything overly technical. It was straightforward and I walked away feeling like I’d been able to explain my trajectory clearly. I didn’t end up getting an offer, but the experience didn’t feel confusing or unfair.
