After a recruiter connection, I ended up going through a multi-round process that felt pretty standard for a financial analyst role. The journey included a writing test along with technical-style questions—things like how I viewed markets—and interviews that leaned heavily on walking through my resume with a lot of clarity. I remember feeling that the biggest factor wasn’t memorizing trivia, it was being able to explain what I’d actually done and why it mattered.
The whole thing felt average in difficulty. I spoke with multiple interviewers across roughly three interview rounds after the initial screen, and I kept getting the sense that they wanted to confirm I could communicate clearly and handle the core work topics that show up in day-to-day analytics and GL analysis. Overall, nothing felt like a trick, but it also wasn’t a “coast through” interview—if my story wasn’t crisp, it would have been easy to stumble.

My process started with an aptitude test, and right away it felt like they were filtering aggressively—only the top handful from each college moved forward. After that, I was dropped into a hackathon format that was completely different from the usual interview vibe: 10 teams of 5 were paired up and worked through a roughly six-hour sprint, monitored by senior employees.
What stood out was how long and intense the single event was compared to the earlier step. Instead of a conversation-based technical round, I had to collaborate and push through a problem-solving cycle while people with more experience were watching and evaluating.
