Easy Neutral Sofia, Sofia (city)

My first round was a short phone conversation with HR, and it was genuinely easy to talk through. I remember it being engaging and comfortable—more like a conversation than an interrogation. The goal was mainly to confirm fit for the work and discuss logistics, and it felt low-pressure.

After that, the interview content I experienced leaned toward the basics. They asked mostly about me—my background and how I’d approach the role—with only a few straightforward accounting questions. Even though there was an accounting test, it still didn’t feel like a high-stakes gauntlet; overall the process felt rushed but not overly difficult.

Difficult Neutral Santa Ana, CA

After an initial discussion with the hiring manager, I felt genuinely confident going into the next step. That first interview ended up lasting more than two hours, and the tone was approachable rather than intimidating. We talked through the challenges in his department, and the honesty made it easier to understand what the work would actually demand. I walked out feeling like I had a strong professional connection.

Then I came back for a second interview with the VP, and it was noticeably tougher. He had an extensive audit background, so the questions got more technical and sharper, and I struggled to read where I stood with him. For a while afterward, I honestly assumed I’d missed the mark. A couple weeks later, HR called and asked for my address because they wanted to move forward, but the process turned messy from there. The first “offer” didn’t become real immediately, and the VP’s boss ultimately stopped it after deciding the decision had moved too quickly—she wanted more candidates interviewed, with extra emphasis on CPAs since I wasn’t one.
