Informa Interview Guide
Everything we know about interviewing at Informa: the process stage by stage and what each round tests.
Interviewing at Informa
What the process looks like, and what Informa is really testing for.
At Informa, interviews across data-related roles heavily emphasize Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Marketing Analytics, Financial statement analysis, Excel Proficiency, and Consulting Case Studies, alongside repeated emphasis on stakeholder management, communication skills, problem solving, and project management. Soft skills show up alongside technical skills, especially communication, leadership, and how you manage others and priorities when there are competing stakeholders.
What you are really being tested on is your ability to structure messy information into a clear analysis and recommendation, communicate it, and work through it with others. The most prominent topics are Sales pitching, Marketing Analytics, Data Analysis (core analytics), Business Analysis, Consulting Case Studies, Financial statement analysis, Excel Proficiency, and system or user feature design, plus stakeholder management, communication skills, and quantitative reasoning. Time management appears far less frequently in the topic data.
Based on the process steps reported, you should expect recruiter screening first, then one or more interview conversations with hiring managers and managers, and sometimes group discussion and panel-style data analysis and presentation. Candidate reports show a difficulty distribution weighted toward medium (62.7%) and hard (10.5%) rather than mostly easy. The reported offer rate is 0.0%, so you should focus on learning and iterating your performance rather than assuming loops convert to offers.
Excel proficiency and business or consulting-style case work appear at the same high prominence level as core data analysis topics, so you should be ready to demonstrate structured analysis and present it clearly, not only to talk about analytics at a high level.
The Informa interview process
4 stages, based on 235 candidate reports.
Recruiter screen
Not specifiedYou start with a recruiter conversation to assess your background and fit for the role. Expect a screening focused on basic qualifications and alignment with what the role needs.
Initial screening and initial screening call
Not specifiedSome roles report initial screening via email or phone, followed by an initial screening call with HR or a recruiter. This phase is about basic qualifications and whether you are a good match to move forward.
Manager and group assessment interviews
Not specifiedYou may meet a hiring manager and one or more managers in multiple interview rounds. In some cases, group discussions are used to evaluate teamwork and communication, and in some cases you may also do data analysis and presentation to a panel of managers.
Final interviews and decision
Not specifiedSome candidates reach final interviews, which may include focus on long-term growth potential. The process ends with a final decision after the recruiter and interview rounds are reviewed.
