The recruiter reached out to me for a full stack developer role, and the interviews went really smoothly at first. I felt a good technical connection with the recruiter, and when I spoke with the hiring manager and someone from the team, the conversations were strong and they seemed genuinely interested in my experience.
The process stopped abruptly when I mentioned I was still finishing my degree. Even though I already had several years of professional experience and had completed a coding bootcamp, they said they had a company policy requiring candidates to already have a degree. It was discouraging because it made the decision feel rigid and heavily based on a diploma rather than what I could build.

Difficult Positive Manila, Manila
My interview process was heavier than what I’d seen before. I went from an HR interview into multiple technical touchpoints: first with a PM, then with the client, and finally a technical exam. Even though it felt demanding, I perceived it as fair—each step seemed designed to evaluate whether I had the full set of skills they needed.
By the time I reached the last assessment, I felt like the process had moved with purpose rather than random screening. I didn’t end up with an offer, but I left feeling that the employer was systematically testing fit instead of just doing a single quick screen.
