After I got through early stages, the process felt like it was moving normally—at first. I completed what I believed to be round two, and I waited for the next step.

What threw me off was the silence afterward. I never received an official note saying I hadn’t made it through to round three. Instead, it felt like I was left to infer what happened, with no closure. The lack of communication made the whole experience drag even though the interview portion itself didn’t feel particularly chaotic.

After I applied, I was asked to complete two online assessments—both focused on programming-style problem solving. One centered on graphs, and the other was about scheduling. A short time later I moved to a one-way online interview where I had to answer three questions. The questions were technical, and they leaned heavily into how I think about programming languages and core data structures.

That loop felt straightforward in format, but it still put pressure on clarity because it was all asynchronous. I remember how the language questions forced me to explain tradeoffs and differences, not just name topics. By the time I finished the one-way portion, the process felt like it was mostly about fundamentals and communication under time constraints, and I didn’t end up hearing back to continue.

Asynchronous Interview Format

Some candidates experience asynchronous interviews where they record responses to technical questions without real-time interaction, which can create additional pressure. Familiarize yourself with this format to manage nerves and improve clarity in your responses.
