Difficult Positive Louisville, KY

I had a technical interview process that leaned heavily into real troubleshooting and cloud topics. The flow was essentially two rounds with the hiring manager and then additional team members. The questions started with concepts, but they quickly shifted into practical scenarios.

In the second round especially, I got pulled into cloud-focused discussion and the kinds of troubleshooting problems that make you think through systems rather than memorize definitions. One of the standout parts was being asked to reason through troubleshooting scenarios involving BGP and Azure. The second round felt more like an evaluation of how I’d operate day to day in cloud environments, grounded in my experience.

Average Negative United States

I had a rough run from the moment interviews started. People were late to both of the interviews I attended, which immediately set a negative tone. My understanding was that I’d meet with a recruiter first, then go to hiring managers, and then there would be a third meeting with the team.

The delays didn’t stop there. At one point, the engineers had to ask the hiring manager what role I was interviewing for, which felt shocking because it made the whole setup feel sloppy and poorly coordinated. On top of that, the engineers I spoke with seemed rude, and one person in particular clearly wasn’t able to handle troubleshooting or configuration topics, and the interaction lacked basic etiquette.
