I had an interview that felt genuinely personable from the start. I remember the recruiter or interviewer coming across as friendly and close, and the session felt dynamic rather than rigid. The questions were split across two languages—there was a part in English and another in Catalan/Castellano—and the format stayed relatively short.
In terms of content, it was a blend of my own background—my experience, goals, and ambitions—and how I connected to the company and the role itself. It didn’t feel like they were trying to trap me; it was more about matching my story to what the job needed. Even when the process expanded beyond that first conversation, it still stayed conversational.

Average Positive United States
After an initial email and some back-and-forth, I ended up with a single video interview where I was pulled through a few things from my resume and asked to talk through challenges I’d hit in past work. The process also included some C-related questions—there were a couple that focused on syntax, plus at least one coding problem involving a bitwise operation.
What made it harder than I expected was that the technical questioning didn’t feel like it matched what the role said about experience level. The questions were pretty demanding, and I struggled partly because I couldn’t always catch what the interviewer was saying clearly due to a heavy accent. Still, the round was structured enough that I could tell they were trying to validate core software engineering concepts rather than anything overly specific to a niche stack.
