My process started with an HR screen by phone, then I went through a more technical step online before I got to the interview stage. As I moved toward the final rounds, the format shifted into multiple interviews with senior people. I ended up doing a superday on site in New York with several back-to-back conversations, each about 30 minutes, mixing behavioral questions with technical light-to-moderate checks. A lot of what I discussed was my M&A experience, along with motivation for the role and the firm. Depending on the interviewer, the intensity varied a bit—some felt colder, and at least one conversation came with noticeably tougher technical probing and lots of personality-based questions.
