The recruiter was responsive at first, and then the timeline started to feel disorganized. After my first round, I didn’t get clear feedback about whether I had cleared it or where I stood. Still, a second round was scheduled.
During that second interview, HR even called me to ask for clarification about the first round—what I said, how it was interpreted, and what the earlier outcome should have meant. That moment made the internal misalignment feel very real. To make things more awkward, the scheduling put all my rounds during employee lunch hours (1–2 PM), which made the interviews feel slightly rushed from the interviewers’ side.

Difficult Positive India
After an HR screening, my process followed a fairly structured path. First came a recruiter/HR call, then I moved into a telephonic interview. After that there was a basic coding round, followed by something that was framed around design patterns. The last technical discussion was a manager-style round where the focus shifted toward higher-level architecture and how I approached systems rather than just solving a question on the spot. Overall, the interviews were challenging in an “expect you to know the basics and connect them to architecture” kind of way.
What stood out most was that compensation and the offer decision were explicitly tied to how I performed across the rounds, so it felt like each step mattered. Even when the process felt formal, it had that “elimination” vibe—like the company was moving quickly through the checklist of competencies they wanted to validate. By the end, I didn’t get an offer, and my lingering takeaway was that the bar was clear, but the path to demonstrating fit felt tightly constrained to coding/design/architecture signals.
