My process started with a recruiter conversation where we mostly talked through my background and whether it matched what they were looking for. There were some behavioral questions, but the emphasis felt like a fit check rather than a deep dive.

After that, I had an employee interview that followed a similar vibe—again, a lot of alignment on my experience. Then I was sent a 24-hour take-home assignment. The timeline to complete it was tight enough that it felt like a real part of the evaluation, not something you can casually squeeze in.

A recruiter call kicked things off, and then I was given a take-home React project. After a few days, the recruiter got back to me and said they’d be interested in scheduling a second-round interview, so it felt like the take-home was at least viewed positively.

But the process didn’t make it to the next step. The recruiter I’d been speaking with went on vacation, and during that gap another recruiter followed up to say the position had already been filled. So the journey ended not because of my performance, but because the role closed.
