When I reached the end, I even double-checked whether my implementation was correct, and the interviewer agreed.

What surprised me was that even with that confirmation, they still didn’t move forward as expected. I’d been told they would proceed, and I kept getting the impression that things had shifted away from the actual quality of my solution. The rejection happened anyway, which made me question how the interview environment and decision-making worked there, because it didn’t feel like they were using the interview to learn from the conversation I just had.
