Average Neutral Calgary, AB

My first interaction with the team was the more general HR-style conversation, where the focus was on my background and resume alignment rather than anything deep and technical. The transition to the technical part was a shift in gear: I was asked around signal mixing diagrams, and the whole point seemed to be to assess whether I genuinely had RF experience. Most of the follow-ups were still tethered to how my past work matched what was on my resume.

The second time I interviewed, the vibe was polite and attentive, and the interviewers seemed genuinely interested in my perspective on job-related topics. What surprised me was how much the process felt like it included nonverbal “fit” signals—subtle reactions while I explained my thinking and opinions. Overall it felt friendly and in good spirit, but the intention behind the questions was pretty clear: they weren’t just checking knowledge, they were also watching how I came across while discussing the work.

Easy Positive Sheffield, England

I started with an HR touchpoint that was basically about logistics and expectations. I joined a Teams call with the team lead and a senior engineer, and it felt more like a conversation than an interrogation—there was a lot of getting-to-know-you and alignment on what the role actually involved.

After that, the later step felt a bit more “interview-y.” The manager’s conversation was about my background and why I was applying, and it included a brief introduction to the position and my prior experience. The audio quality was unfortunately poor, and the conversation had awkward time jumps that made it harder to follow every detail, which added a little friction to what should’ve been a straightforward screening-style discussion. Even with that, the tone made it clear the company was trying to maximize their fit and wasn’t inclined to compromise on profile fit.
