Difficult Positive Mississauga, ON

After a recruiter touchpoint, I ended up with a fairly long stretch of assessments and live coding. About a week later I joined a technical Zoom where we started with the usual questions about my background and why I wanted to work there, and then I moved straight into programming. I was asked to write a few JavaScript functions, including palindrome logic in both iterative and recursive forms, along with a couple other smaller function-style problems.

The last part of that same technical session was the heavier one: a single more difficult Java problem since their backend is Java. It involved recursion and map usage, and it felt like the point where the interview stopped being “warm-up” and became more about depth than just getting something to run. Overall the process felt tough because the hardest concepts were concentrated near the end, and I wasn’t able to turn the Java portion into an outcome that got me an offer.
