Difficult Negative Kuala Lumpur

I went through a process that started with a live coding portion and then moved into system design and behavioral-style discussion. In the coding segment, I was given two questions back-to-back: one was an anagram-related problem and the other involved adding two numbers represented as a string. I solved both on time and walked through my approach as I went.

During the follow-up Q&A, I asked about how services communicate in the platform and how authentication works across microservices. I got an awkward response that didn’t connect cleanly to what I’d asked, and the interviewer seemed to stumble when I probed further about caching access tokens and reducing unnecessary calls. There wasn’t any detailed feedback afterward—just an HR rejection email with no explanation—which made the whole end feel pretty abrupt.
