I interviewed online for GoTo Budapest in the summer of 2024, and the structure was clean: an HR interview about 30 minutes, a longer technical interview around 90 minutes, and then a team-fit interview that lasted about an hour. Everything felt like it was moving in the right order, and I left each round with a positive impression.
The only downside was what happened after they said they’d reach out soon. They told me they would contact me, but I ended up being ghosted without any explanation. I kept waiting because the process “went great,” but the lack of communication turned the experience sour.

My process followed a pretty standard three-part shape. First there was an initial HR round, basically a screening conversation. Next came a technical round with engineers from the project, where I got both front-end and back-end related questions. I remember it feeling like they were checking breadth rather than drilling deeply into a single narrow area.
The final step was a conversation with a director and an engineering manager. That last round shifted more toward how I’d operate and how my experience mapped to the team, rather than being purely about specific technical trivia. Overall it was an organized flow, and the end result was a rejection.
