I got pulled into a CoderPad-style problem-solving round for a Java developer role. It was a timed coding interview with two questions focused purely on getting working solutions right there. The first prompt was exactly the “High five” problem from LeetCode, and the second question was also listed as “High five.” The biggest thing I remember was the expectation that my solution had to be fully running and pass additional test cases, not just the sample checks.
I worked through the logic and made sure the code compiled cleanly and handled the cases I could reason about while the interviewer watched. Even though the prompts themselves were straightforward in wording, the platform requirement around passing extra tests made it feel a little sharper than a casual practice problem. I walked away feeling like I had done the technical portion correctly, but I didn’t end up moving further.

My process started with HackerRank. I had two coding questions in that first assessment, and after clearing it, I reached a live interview round where I was hit with a LeetCode hard-style problem. The goal was essentially to perform at a level similar to maximizing score on a hard prompt, and I just couldn’t get there.
The interviewer was genuinely nice and made the interaction feel human, but the technical gap was the main problem. When I looked back, it felt like the difficulty spike happened right when things transitioned from assessment to the interview, and I wasn’t able to recover. Overall it was still a tough, very difficult experience, and I ended up failing that round.
