Average Positive Salt Lake City, UT

My interviews followed a simple three-step flow. I started with a hiring process that moved quickly, then I got to the final stage, which included shadowing a current recruiter. That last part actually surprised me—instead of feeling like another assessment, it felt like I was watching how work really played out day to day.

Across the process, the tone was friendly and grounded. The hiring manager felt kind, and the interviewer kept things conversational rather than vague or overly complicated. I remember walking away calmer than I expected because she even offered example talk tracks tied to the kinds of questions that came up. I still didn’t end up with the offer, but the whole experience felt respectful and well-run, especially compared to what I’ve seen elsewhere.

Average Negative San Mateo, CA

From the beginning, something about the process felt off and it never really recovered. One recruiter wouldn’t even turn on her camera during the interview, and the moment I sensed it wasn’t being treated seriously, I shut things down early. In another setup, the recruiter seemed enthusiastic during an initial conversation and even described what would happen next, but then I simply never heard back.

I also had an interview where the interviewer showed up late by about ten minutes and then ended the call abruptly, and after I followed up I never received a response. Scheduling itself became an issue in another round too—there were last-minute reschedules and poor communication, and after the final interview there was no follow-through, even when I had to check in and they moved on to another candidate. What made it worse was the lack of feedback; I finished conversations feeling like I’d done my part, but it was confusing to not understand where I stood.

Shadowing & Realistic Job Previews

Some candidates experience shadowing as part of the interview process, providing insights into daily operations and team dynamics. This step is generally viewed positively, as it helps candidates assess the work environment and expectations.
