I interviewed for a backend-focused role and got rejected after the system design round. The pattern that stuck with me was that it wasn’t the early stages that ended it—it was that later system design evaluation where I didn’t make it through. The process itself mirrored what I heard from friends: a fairly consistent sequence that eventually converged on the same system design stage.
Overall, the tone around that round felt high-stakes. Everything before it gave me enough time to show I could handle technical questioning, but the system design round was the point where the bar and expectations seemed to hit at once. I remember walking out feeling like I understood the scope, yet I still didn’t land the way they wanted.

Difficult Positive Bengaluru
I started with an introductory round with the hiring manager, then I met with the head of engineering. After that came multiple rounds of coding/DSA, with each one lasting around an hour. The setup felt condensed but clear: they moved from conversation into hands-on technical evaluation pretty quickly.
The difficulty was described as difficult, and the structure reflected that. Instead of one single challenge, I ended up doing several rounds of DSA-style work, which meant staying sharp across repeated problem-solving attempts.
